What fun it is to go to the Fair! I love to see the arts and crafts exhibits and go on the latest ride on the Midway. You can look at all the shiny new cars, sit in the driver's seat and make believe you own every one of them. The food is special too, the red candy apples, Belguim waffles and corny dogs. Here are some pictures I took at the fair on October 11, 2001.

The Esplanade

Art Deco Mural

The Fairgrounds in Dallas were built for the Texas Centennial in 1936. The structures are outstanding examples of the Art Deco movement. The buildings and murals have recently been restored and they are wonderful to see. This park was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1986.
