1 pound ground beef 1 large onion diced 1/2 green pepper (or hot peppers) diced 1 small can of mushrooms 1 medium can of corn 1 15 oz can of chili beans 1 15 oz can of whole peeled tomatoes (chop 'em up into bite sized chunks) 8 oz tomato sauce or spaghetti sauce 1/2 pound of shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 to 2 tablespoons of chili powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder 1 teaspoon black pepper, red pepper, whatever pepper optional: hot sauce according to your taste optional: 1 table spoon soy and/or teryaki sauce |

Lightly saute the onions and brown the meat. Then just dump in the rest of the ingredients except the cheese When everything is blended and hot, add the cheese and stir until it's melted in. Simmer for a few minutes....done This makes about 3 quarts of chili. If you follow the recipe it will not come out too hot...adjust spice to your taste. I find it's best if you stick it in the fridge and let it sit overnight so the flavors blend. |
